REVIEW:
During my six-month, snowbird-stay in Sarasota, I participated in the Posture for Lasting Health Workshop at Alive With Yoga offered by Cathy Daley. The class had been described as life-changing, and it was.
As a regular beach walker, I learned the proper placement of my feet, knees, and hips, as well as how to execute my stride to prevent back and hip pain, both of which have routinely plagued me.
As a writer who spends hours at her computer every day, the instructor’s precise techniques for sitting relieved my neck and back tension, as well as giving me ways to keep my knees relaxed in order to prevent strain.
As a woman who has struggled with bouts of insomnia, the suggestions offered on how to keep my spine straight by the correct alignment of my neck, shoulders and hips allows me now to fall asleep within minutes. This alone would have made the class worthwhile.
If you want to learn healthy ways to carry your body while sitting, standing, walking and sleeping, I whole-heartedly recommend this posture workshop.
